Our First Week of School

What an exciting week!  We kept very busy!we learned all the awesome procedures at our school and things are going fabulously!  I love my class and feel it a privilege to be their teacher!

This week we started off by learning "verbal" Judo.  Mr. Hughes will be visiting our class for the next couple of weeks teaching us how to stand up for ourselves in a respectful manner as well as how to be a good representative of our school, our families and our communities!  We look forward to the many lessons we can learn from him!

This week our story is Ronald Morgan, a baseball story, our VOCABULARY words for the week are:  slugger, worst, smacked,
We also learned about the meaning of "OPINION" and the "Commutative property of Addition".  We are a very smart class full of willing minds!

We will also learn this week about our American Symbols such as the FLAG, Eagle, Stars & Stripes, Statue of Liberty, US capital building etc.  If you have a chance to look at or discuss some of these things at home with your students have your child share it with me and I will give them a reward!

Remember to READ READ READ, that will be the majority of homework this year!  My expectations are 100 minutes a week.  The first week we will count as a practice week until we get in the swing of things.  ALSO, remember that homework is due every Friday.

Remember to follow us on twitter @2ndgradetwits and email me at anytime.  If you did not receive a magnet with our blog address, twitter and email please let me know.  They were given out at Back to School Night.
