Another Week...

Here's what's Happening this week in our classroom

We are off to a great Start with JAZZ reading (We read over 25, 000 minutes). Make sure that all of your minutes are turned in each Monday with a Parent Signature! This will be the majority if not all of our Homework for the next several weeks! So...READ READ READ. To follow what is happening with the JAZZ click on the JAZZ picture. JUST FOR FUN...if your student would like to stay in at lunch time this week to READ I will be in there with them so that we can "pump" up our minutes!
Spelling this week, Unit 20, ending words "able", "ible", "ate". You can link to my Uen page to get a copy of the words. (the link is to the right in this blog).

Writer's Workshop...We began writing a personal persuasive essay. It has taken us several weeks to prepare but we will soon be able to decide the perplexing question, "SHOULD WE SQUISH THE ANT"!

Our class is working hard on learning how the seasons work and why we have seasons. Mrs. Bird has been doing a lot of awesome activities with the students. Ask them about it! You can also go on to my uen page and link to Mrs. Bird's Uen page and research about seasons.

MATH, MATH and More MATH...we are learning about Ratios and Unit Rate. This is very practical and real world math. I have been linking their understanding to Miles per hour, ounces per bag, jumping jacks per seconds etc. Anything you can do at home to help them with this would be great.

ONE LAST THING! Thanks for letting me teach all your wonderful children, REMEMBER they are the ones teaching me!
