Wow Look at Us!

To start here are some awesome pictures from last week! I am hoping that you make this blog a habit as we post activities, pictures, student work, what's going on and glass goals each week.

Our mini me pictures turned out fabulous! The students partnered up with each other to find measurements and then scale themselves down proportionally on a 18 inch piece of paper. It was amazing how much their personalities shined through on the page! WE are now learning about percentages in math and how we use them in the world around us.

We finished up Science with Mrs. Bird by taking an end of unit test on Sound and Seasons! Thanks Mrs. Bird for all you taught our class. Mrs. Davis will come in our class this week and start teaching us about Moon Phases and Light. Sixth Grade Science is the BOMB!

We will finish up with our Roman Unit and Next week start the Middle Ages with a drama activity on the plague.

We have been working so very hard on our persuasive writing techniques in preparation for the State Test that we will take next week. Our class has all written an essay on, "should we squish or not squish an ant". Your student will need to know how to write a well constructed essay using 6 Traits and persuasive tactics such as ethical, logical and emotional. We will watch a Pixar Short depicting some good persuasive tactics to get our brain juices going.
