MATH: We finished up a math unit by making proportional mini me's and taking a test on percentages and decimals...all very practical math that students will USE daily in their lives. We are starting are Unit on Integers (counting numbers, their opposites and Zero) Will be adding, subtracting and multiplying positive and negative numbers.
SOCIAL STUDIES: WE had an awesome activity on the Black Death where we reenacted the Eyam Plague (a small town in England). We learned about where it came from, how it started, how it was carried, things they tried to do to protect themselves and what it looked like. We will continue on this week with Feudalism. '
SCIENCE: We will have 3 more lessons on Moon Phase before we test. Your students can bring home their science binders anytime to study. Please continue to check out the moon each night, whether in the sky or on the web. We had a beautiful 1st quarter last night...very visible! (Of course I was up late).
LITERACY: We will finish up our POETIC devices and begin writing more poetry. We are doing literacy circles right now and when finished up with those your student will pick a BOOK of their CHOICE to read and do a book project on it to share with the class.
