What's happening this week...
Literacy:
We will continue with our poetic devices, last week we learned about onomatopoeia, we watched a scene from Meet me in St. Louis and Bugs Bunny. We learned all shorts of awesome "sound" words. We also revisited alliteration and added this to our poetic device squash book. I can't wait for the awesome poem book. We finished up with our information books with book projects and began our literacy circles. Ask your student what book they picked to read for their group. We will work on parts of speech, look for some worksheet practice on this coming home.
Math:
We will finish up with decimals and percentages and take an end of unit test this week. We will then move on to integers! FUN
Science:
We learned the different types of moon phases and why the moon looks white. Our moon phase unit will continue on for a few more weeks. Keep checking the sky and our blog for the different phases each night.
Social Studies:
We also finished up our Unit on Rome and our now moving on to the Middle Ages. We will do a drama reenactment of the plague. And learn about Castles and the Code of Chivalry.
DON'T FORGET SEP's THIS THURSDAY...REMEMBER, if any of you would like to meet with me earlier, I am available anytime before or after school this week. NO SCHOOL FRIDAY!
